Naturally, Samsung has put a high priority on S Health on the Gear S2, there are health-oriented watch faces and a number of software features geared towards getting you active. On the hardware side, the Gear S2 has a number of sensors, including a heart-rate monitor. All of these work great.
Personally the smartwatch market is just beginning. Im waiting for another year and see what Apple has in store. The Apple watch has to be my favourite so far, looks wise is far better then gear 2. But hatS off to samsung with the rotating bezel. Smart design. My opinion all smartwatches are lacking unique and revolutionary features.
According to Samsung, the S3's 380-mAh battery can last up to three days on a charge. If you want to use it just as a watch, I'm sure that's possible. However, even with the display set to turn on only when I raised my wrist, no GPS tracking enable and just a few notifications coming through, I was able to get about 24 hours out of the S3 before needing to charge it back up.
This wouldn't be Samsung without a little muddying of the waters, though. There are a number of Gear S2 models coming, with the standard Gear S2 lining up alongside a more traditionally styled Gear S2 Classic. There's a 3G-enabled S2 coming too, but we'd steer clear of that one unless you want to look a proper Dick (Tracy) making watch calls. 2b1af7f3a8
